In the month of April, we plan to celebrate National Social Security Month by highlighting the things you can do online with your my Social Security account. In today’s blog post, we are going to talk you through the steps of creating an online account if you haven’t done so already!
To create an account, you must be at least 18 years of age, have a Social Security number, have a valid U.S. mailing address, and have an email address.
Step 1: Visit www.socialsecurity.gov/myaccount
Step 2: Select “Create an Account”
Step 3: Select “Create New Account”
Step 4: Read and agree to the Terms of Service
Step 5: Tell Social Security who you are
Step 6: Verify your identity
Step 7: Create account detail
Step 8: Select how to receive your security code
Step 9: Enter the code you received
Step 10: Congratulations, you successfully created an account!
